Q: How do I get admitted to Loretto?
A: The Loretto admission process employs many sources of information to answer
the question: will this young woman succeed at Loretto? These include:
- family interview
- the clergy recommendation
- the school recommendation
- the student portion of the application
- Student grades and standardized test scores
- High School Placement Test score
Q: How do I sign-up to take the High School Placement Test at Loretto?
A: The test registration form can be obtained at Open House, Shadow Day and
on-line. Test registration is on-going and the $30.00 testing fee is WAIVED
for all students who submit their test form at Loretto High School BEFORE November
16, 2007.
Q: Do I have to be Catholic?
A: Approximately 77% of Loretto students are Catholic. Priority admission is
given to students with religious affiliation. Campus spirituality is a vibrant
part of our community.
Q: What is the student population? How many will be accepted?
A: Loretto’s optimum enrollment is 500 students. The Class of 2012 will
enroll approximately 150 students.
Q: What is the average class size?
A: The average academic course size is 23. Honors and Advanced Placement classes
typically run smaller to ensure individual attention.
Q: Can I make an athletic team?
A: Loretto is committed to providing an opportunity for all students to pursue
their passion in athletics. To that end, we offer 22 levels of interscholastic
competition in 11 different team sports. These levels of competition include
frosh, junior varsity and varsity teams.
Q: Do I have to wear a uniform?
A: Loretto’s awesome uniform is worn daily. Many options allow for comfortable
school days in every season.
Q: Will I ever see a boy?
A: Loretto is all-girls until 3:05 pm. Many opportunities are available to
socialize with boys in after-school activities such as sports, orchestra,
fine arts, clubs and dances.
Q: Is bus service available?
A: There is a bus service available on both the I-80 and Highway 50 corridors.
Car-pooling is a popular method of transportation as students travel from
various counties.
Q: Is financial aid available?
A: $260,000 was awarded to 116 qualified families in 2006-2007. Families in
need of tuition assistance must complete a separate Financial Aid Application.

Q: What percent attend college?
A: 100% of Loretto graduates are accepted to colleges around the country – and
around the world. In the Class of 2007, 96% are attending four-year universities.
Our College Counselors work personally with each student throughout her high
school years to assist and advise in the college admission process.
Q: Will I be successful at Loretto?
A: We are committed to assisting each young woman in reaching her potential.
Our supportive teachers, lunch labs and peer tutors provide extra help for
students who seek it. Academic Advisors closely monitor each student’s
academic progress from year to year.
